Follow Friday & Book Blogger Hop (21)

, by Kt Clapsadl

Book Blogger HopOn fridays I participate in both Follow Friday and the Book Blogger Hop.

Follow Fridays is hosted by Parajunkee's View, and is just Fridays.

The Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Crazy-for-Books, and runs Friday to Monday. There are new rules for the hop, so make sure to check out Crazy for Books for the details.

This week's question from Crazy for Books:

What do you consider the most important in a story: the plot or the characters?

That is a difficult question as both are very important to me. I think I am more forgiving of a slow plot as long as there are awesome characters. However, the best plot in the world can't make up for terrible characters. So, I'd have to say the characters are the most important.

This week's question from Parajunkee:

What did you study in college, or are currently studying and did it lead to your current 9 to 5 or are you doing something totally different?

The first time around in college I studied Graphic Design. However, my hubby is NOT a city person, and that just really requires living or commuting to a city. So I took a couple years off to have our two kiddos. When my son, the baby, was born I started back part time, going for a business degree. This upcoming spring semester will hopefully be my last and I will finally get my degree even if it is years later than my original plan.

  1. This weeks book blogger hop question was indeed hard. I agree with you about the best plot not making up for terrible characters.

  2. I went with characters as being the most important too. I like being able to care about the people in the books I read.
    Have a fantastic weekend!

  4. Old Follower just stopping by.

This is a hard question to answer because, for me, plot and character are so intertwined, but if forced to choose, I would say character is more important.

If the characters suck, I just have a hard time caring about the plot.
