Giveaway and Interview with Chloe Neill

, by Kt Clapsadl

Today on the blog I have an interview with fantastic author, Chloe Neill. Her Chicagoland series is one of my all time favorites, and the latest book releases next week. I cannot wait!

1. How many books do you have planned for this series? Any hints you can give us for what is in store?

There are currently seven books under contract. You'll have to keep reading to learn more, but I can say that we'll see Merit undertake lots of different adventures!

2. I can't wait! How do you choose your character names?

I use a baby name book (or similar lists on the internet) and keep looking until I find the name that fits the character best. Merit was pretty quick. Ethan took a long time!

3. I love Merit's name and I think Ethan fits him very well. If your book were to made into a movie who would be your top picks for the cast?

I like Jill Flint as Merit and Chris Hemsworth (from the new THOR movie) as Ethan.

4. Wow those two are perfect choices. Chris sure makes for a smoking Ethan that's for sure! What are some of your favorite books in the paranormal genre?

I read the BDB books, of course, as well as Kim Harrison and Rachel Caine's Weather Warden series. I'm so bummed that one is complete!

Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 1)Lover Eternal (Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 2)Ill Wind (Weather Warden, Book 1)Heat Stroke (Weather Warden, Book 2)

5. I'm a big fan of those series as well! If you could tell readers one thing about yourself or your books what would that be?

I'm not sure there's anything pertinent they don't already know! How about, I love to read interior design blogs?

6. Have you always wanted to be a writer, and how long did it take you to achieve your dream?

Not at all. I used to hate writing, but I did it a lot for various jobs and in college. I started writing in 2005. SOME GIRLS BITE was the second manuscript I wrote.

7. Sounds like you got lucky, but it really isn't a surprise considering how fantastic Some Girls Bite is. Any advice for aspiring authors?

Read and write every day. Writing can always improve, and reading is crucial to help instill solid technique and to give the writer information to back up their writing. Read fiction, nonfiction, short pieces and long. And do your research before submitting material to publisher.

8. Good advice! Do you have any passions other than reading or writing?

I love to bake. I also enjoy decorating my home and playing with my dogs.

9. Finish this statement: "You'll like the Chicagoland Vampires Series if"

If you enjoy urban fantasy or paranormal romance, humor and wit, and kick-ass heroines!

Thanks for having me today!

Thanks so much Chloe! Make sure to check out the latest book in the Chicagoland Vampires series, Hard Bitten (Chicagoland Vampires, Book 4).

Author Info:

I was born and raised in the South, but now make my home in the Midwest, just close enough to Cadogan House and St. Sophia's to keep an eye on things. When not transcribing Merit’s and Lily's adventures, I bake (a lot!), watch entirely too much television, root for my favorite college football team (Go Big Red!), spend time with friends and my beau, Jeremy, and play with my dogs, Baxter and Scout.

Hard Bitten coming May 3rd.

Chicago is beset by supernatural tensions, and Merit-vampire protector of a safe haven called Cadogan house-is worried that the humans will be reaching for their pitchforks any minute. It doesn't help that yet another vampire rave is broken up by the mayor, and a new inhibition- reducing drug is circulating through the community.

It's up to Merit to put her house in order-literally. And if that takes getting a little blood on her hands, so be it.

Chloe is giving away a swag pack to one luck winner!
