Let's Talk With Smash & Kt (12)

, by Kt Clapsadl

Welcome to the Let’s Talk weekly discussion meme!

Originally hosted by Melissa from i swim for oceans, Smash & Kt took her original inspiration, and made it their own, expanding it to more than just books. Let’s get personal (but respectfully so) and learn more about one another!  Each week, a different question will be posted along with a place to link up your posts and visit other people’s responses. This meme is definitely meant to bring out conversation and meet new people. So, Let's Talk!

This week's question:

Do you hide your book purchases from your significant other/parents/children/pet/old lady down the street? Share some good smuggling stories! (Thank you, Kristin/My ParaHangover!)

Hmm. Yes and no. I typically show all my book purchases to my hubby, simply because I like to show of the covers of the new & shiny. But I don't necessarily show them to him on the day of purchase. This especially holds true whenever I've gone overboard and purchased a bunch at a time. You know, those times where you find a bunch of good deals at once, or there are a lot of new releases that I just HAD to have. To be honest, this delay in showing the hubby stems more from my own frugalness than him minding me buying books. But I'm the penny pincher in the family, so I have major guilt issues over spending money on myself. When I first started blogging, I was so excited about all of the new books, that I well, went rather overboard and purchased a TON of books. My wallet did not like me at all. However, now, between all of the books that I get for review and finding a new and awesome library, I've been able to cut drastically back in my purchases without having to miss out on the new releases I've been excited about.

That being said, there are a few (Okay, a little more than a few ;) series that will always be on my auto-buy list, and I budget accordingly:

(I've posted the first book in each series for those who have not discovered these awesome books yet)
