Monday Wrapup (164)

, by Kt Clapsadl

It's Monday! What Are You Reading, hosted by Book Journey, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.

Reviews for the past week:

Antigoddess by Kendare Blake (Early Review)
"ANTIGODDESS was one of my most anticipated reads for the year. I absolutely LOVED Kendare's Anna books, and since this one surrounded Greek mythology, another favorite thing for me, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this. Unfortunately it just wound up being a mediocre read for me at best. Granted, my disappointment could largely stem from my overly high expectations, but I can't help feeling let down."

Bound by Night by Larissa Ione (Early Review)
"I'm a huge fan of Larissa's books, so I had pretty high expectations for BOUND BY NIGHT, so imagine my surprise when it not only met them, but blew them out of the water. Simply put I absolutely loved this book. It sucked me in from the very start and I could not put it down."

Kirsten's Book of the Week:

Marty Boggs & The Curse of the Mummy’s Tomb by M.T. Acquaire (Review)
"Overall, the writing is often overly flowery when it would be better to focus on other details, such as plot and characterization. The result is some lengthy sentences, and a growing impatience with the overuse of some words. In addition, the repetition of certain facts, a school bully being an issue, and Marty not liking his new town gets stale fairly quickly, and hopefully in a sequel, more attention will be paid to the mystery itself."
