It's Monday! What are you reading (39)

, by Kt Clapsadl

It's Monday! What Are You Reading, hosted by Book Journey, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.

Here's what I read this past week:

The Restorer (Graveyard Queen)Twilight Prophecy (Children of Twilight)BumpedAscension: A Dark Breed Novel

Interview with Cameron Haley
The Restorer by Amanda Stevens (Early Review and Interview)
Twilight Prophecy by Maggie Shayne (Early Review)
Bumped by Megan McCafferty (Early Review)
Ascension by Sable Grace (Early Review and Interview)

I had the pleasure of Interviewing Cameron Haley, author of the Underworld Cycle series. I really love these books, so I hope you will check them out

I also read The Restorer and Interviewed its author, Amanda Stevens. She's giving away a signed copy and a small Starbucks gift card, so make sure you check that out here. Ends tomorrow at midnight. The Restorer was a phenomenal book that gave me chills almost the entire way throughout. The author has created a very unique world in this book that you won't want to miss. I personally cannot wait for the next installment.

I also read Twilight Prophecy by Maggie Shayne. Even though this is the 17th book in the series, and I had not read the previous books, I had no trouble understanding what was going on. There was enough world building to keep me from getting lost, and I really loved the characters. It did have a happy ending in part, but it also let open a pretty big cliffhanger. I'm very eager to see what happens next.

I was eagerly anticipating reading Bumped. I love the dystopian genre, so I always jump at the chance to read any new ones that I can get my hands on. This book did disappoint me a little as it took so long for me to build a connection with the characters. However, putting that aside, the world was very chilling and I have a feeling the next installment will be better now that things are fully established, and the action has just picked up.

Finally I read Ascencion by Sable Grace, and Interviewed this author duo as well. I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book. It combined my two favorite aspects, Vampires and Greek Mythology, and wrapped it all up in a pretty bow, or well, book. The gods were portrayed differently than I've ever "seen" them and that just made the book even better. The sexual tension between the two main characters practically leaped off the pages making it one heck of a read.

My upcoming list:

Angelfire by Courtney Allison Moulton
Magic on the Hunt by Devon Monk
Firewalker by Allyson James
Stormwalker by Allyson James

  2. I still have Stormwalker and Firewalker on my TBR pile too. If all goes well this week--and since it's a holiday weekend, it might not--I hope to get to those next week!

  5. Just finished your book and reading through this blog! My husband and I plan to head out for a year of travel in a couple of years and I’d like to blog. In the meantime, I have a sort of friends and family blog about camping in Colorado. It isn’t hosted and I use free wordpress. I’d like to transform it into something lots more professional and public. So, my question is–should I just scratch it and start over? Sounds like it is hard to move content and change a name? Because I’m giving tips on where to camp I think I may need to re-visit some of the older locations anyway. Will it actually disappear so that people will only find the new one? Finally, about how long did it take before your blog began earning an income? What exactly did you do–seek out advertisers? Or did they find you?
