Follow Friday & Book Blogger Hop (23)

, by Kt Clapsadl

Book Blogger HopOn fridays I participate in both Follow Friday and the Book Blogger Hop.

Follow Fridays is hosted by Parajunkee's View, and is just Fridays.

The Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Crazy-for-Books, and runs Friday to Monday. There are new rules for the hop, so make sure to check out Crazy for Books for the details.

This week's question from Crazy for Books:

Do you only read one book at a time or do you have several going at once?

Typically I read just one at a time. Sometimes I will read two if the book I'm currently reading at home is a hard copy. I'll read a second book on my kindle at the gym as paper books are just too difficult to read there. However, for my "gym" read, I'll typically pick something I've read at least once before so I'm already familiar with things and do not get it mixed up with the other book I'm reading. I really don't like reading two at once, but the gym is too boring without a good book. ;)

This week's question from Parajunkee:

How did you come up with your blog name?

Well my original blog name was "One Book at a Time." However, shorty after starting mine, I found another popular blog with the same name that had been around for a lot longer. I didn't want to duplicate, so I wracked my brain for another name. I decided that the most fitting name would have something to do with my obsession with books. So, after much thought, A Book Obsession.. became the final name.

  2. I love how you came upon your blog name. I tried to tie everything together as well. Books, steampunk, & my Madness became Mad Steampunkery & Book Reviews and I must say, I love every min of it!

I have been trying to read one book at a time this year. Success rate is about 75%.

  5. Damn! Everyone makes having a kindle look so appealing...
I have to read two books at the same time. Normally because I can't carry one to school without breaking my back...

  7. So many folks are professing their love for their e-readers. I love my nook - I've been reading even more than usual (which is to say, a lot) since I got it.

  8. Old follower hopping through again for the weekend. I'm pretty much the same with one book at a time. Maybe if I had an e-reader I could multitask easier...

If you feel like hopping my way, come venture into The Wolf's Den. Hope you're having a great weekend!

  9. Hopping through. Good idea to read a book that doesn't require much concentration at the gym. I usually just listen to music at the gym. It usually has to be hard rock to keep me moving :-)

  11. Yay..someone like me that can only read one or two books at the most LOL

I only read one book at a time and I carry it with me everywhere until it's finished and if I know I am nearly finished a book, I take the next one from my pile to save me being caught unaware and being bored lol!

I don't go to the gym but I know what you mean about being bored..it's like your body is physically active but your mind isn't! You need something to stiulate your brain.

  12. I usually read one book at a time. But I think it is a great idea to have a different book for the gym (and one that you've already read) because I can't focus on the book I'm reading at the gym as much as I'd need to for a new book.
