It's Monday! What are you reading (34)

It's Monday! What Are You Reading, hosted by Book Journey, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.

Here's what I read this past week:

River Marked (Mercy Thompson, Book 6)Storm Born (Dark Swan, Book 1)Spirit Dances (Luna Books)

River Marked by Patricia Briggs (Review)
Storm Born by Richelle Mead (Review)
Spirit Dances by CE Murphy (Early Review)

Last week I got to meet Patricia Briggs, one of my top favorite authors, and this week I posted my review of River Marked. The book had a different feel than the others as the setting was different, and most of the secondary characters didn't make too much of an appearance. However, I still loved the book, and it gave us some much needed answers about Mercy's heritage, as well as some sweetness between her and Adam. You'll definitely want to check this one out.

I also started Richelle Mead's Dark Swan series. I love her two other series, and since the third book was just released I figured it was time to start these. I really enjoyed it, and they do have a slightly different feel than Richelle's other series, but still very good all the same.

My final read/review for the week was Spirit Dances. I love this series, and if you have read my reviews of the previous books you'll know that I also have a love/hate relationship with the MAJOR sexual tension between the main character and her yummy boss. They have this nasty habit of making headway towards coming together, and then taking two huge steps backwards. Sometimes they just make me want to scream in frustration. In this book they take a huge step forward, but then WHAM something big gets in the way. Sometimes I think the series may just be that final straw that pushes me over into the looney bin, but I think I'll try and hold on till the next book and just hope for some gratification.

Can you tell that I get very invested in my characters? ;)

My upcoming list:

Thorn Queen by Richelle Mead
Iron Crowned by Richelle Mead
The Vampire Voss by Colleen Gleason (Early Review)
